Our Programs

Books 4 Zambia was formed by Walter Cowham, and his wife, Holly.  They met in Zambia where Walter owned a farm and Holly was a teacher volunteering with the Peace Corps.  After moving to Boston, they were determined to thank the communities who had welcomed Holly and the other volunteers so graciously.  They kept in close touch with their friends and colleagues in Zambia, and pledged to support the mission of educating the next generation.  

They have since collected and shipped over 60,000 books, educational technology, and recreational equipment to three partner schools– Chongololo, Nyakutwa, and Saint Margaret’s–as well as filled a public library in the town of Chipata.  

Our partner for 2022 is Siankaba School in Livingstone, which is seeking to build both a school (preK-gr. 12) and community library.
